Chelsea’s Under-21 side continue their quest to finish in the top four of their league, and qualify for the play-offs to determine the champions, when they take on Liverpool at Aldershot this evening (Monday).

Entry to the Electrical Services Stadium is free to all spectators for this game which will also be screened live on Chelsea TV. Kick-off is 7.05pm.

Liverpool are the current leaders of the 22-team league but have played two games more than fifth-placed Chelsea who are just four points off the top, making this a crucial game in the run-in.

There are four matches left for Dermot Drummy’s side to gather enough points to qualify for the play-off semi-finals, in which the top side will play the fourth and second faces third for a place in the final.

A quick recovery is required for Chelsea’s U21s having last been in action on Friday night when they matched the first team this weekend by beating Stoke 3-0, in their case at the Britannia Stadium.

Defender Andreas Christensen opened the scoring with Alex Kiwomya also on target and Lewis Baker scoring his sixth in the competition. Marco van Ginkel played 70 minutes.
