Brighton and Hove Albion have been linked with a move for Chelsea starlet Izzy Brown this week, having already missed out on 20-year-old’s Blues teammate Tammy Abraham.

The Daily Mail report that the Seagulls are looking to bring the forward to AMEX Stadium for their debut season in the Premier League, as they look to add both dynamism and depth to their front line.

Brown joined the Huddersfield on loan after starting the previous campaign with Rotherham when fellow Blues youngster Kasey Palmer – who was also on loan at the club – was struck down by injury.

The 20-year-old certainly made his mark in David Wagner’s squad last term, but with the Terriers only being granted the opportunity to sign one Premier League player on loan in the summer following their promotion to the top flight, Palmer ultimately emerged as the starlet who would return to the Kirklees Stadium.

With Palmer agreeing upon an extra season on loan at Huddersfield, the door has been left open for Brighton to snag Brown, after failing to tempt England Under-21 striker Abraham to the AMEX after an impressive 2016/17 term at Bristol City.

Abraham, 19, was a target of both Newcastle United and Brighton, although the hit-man recently signed a five-year-deal at Stamford Bridge worth £50k-a-week before his switch to Swansea City on a one-year loan deal.

However Brown, who scored eight goals last season with six assists during his split stints at both Huddersfield and the Millers, certainly has the potential to live up to the standards to which Abraham has set, with Chris Hughton’s club supposedly being poised to nab his signature.
