Piazon, who spent last season on loan at Chelsea’s nearby neighbours, impressed a great deal in the Championship as he featured 33 times for the first team. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder scored six times and set up four for his team mates to earn another year at the west London club for the 2017/18 season.

Signed from Brazilian giants Sao Paulo in 2011, the talented midfielder made his debut under Roberto Di Matteo in 2012, with similar loan spells at Malaga, Vitesse, Frankfurt and Reading two seasons ago.

In a similar signal of intent, 19-year-old Salter has committed to the club in a ?long-term deal that will keep the versatile defender at Stamford Bridge until 2021. Salter has also played for the first team with Gus Hiddink awarding him with excellent displays in the reserves, selecting him for his debut in April 2016 against Aston Villa. Shortly after, the Chelsea youth captain helped his team to success in the FA Youth Cup final against Manchester City.

The prodigious talent played his part in this summer’s U20 World Cup success for England, with the centre back playing an integral part in the victory. On loan at Bristol Rovers last season, the tall 6ft 1 defender featured 13 times for the first team.
