?Chelsea made light work of Arsenal after they defeated their London rivals 3-0 in Beijing on Saturday in a pre-season friendly.

Although this match wasn’t of the magnitude of last season’s FA Cup final, the Chelsea players seemed to still have the taste of defeat, with Blues defender David Luiz also revealing, via ?Standard Sport, that he has kept his FA Cup losers medal to remind himself of the feeling of defeat to use as a source of motivation for next season.

They certainly seemed to be fired up for this match as Chelsea came straight out of the blocks and played at a very high tempo throughout the first half.

Willian and Michy Batshuayi scored in quick succession in the first half, and the Belgian striker added his second to make it 3-0 with a sublime second-half strike.

Batshuayi undoubtedly had a point to prove after Chelsea completed the signing of fellow striker Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid for around £70m the day prior to the match, however he did make his case to Antonio Conte after his double helped Chelsea secure a comfortable victory.

Prior to the match, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insisted that a matchup between the two London clubs is ‘never a friendly’, but his side were punished for some slack defensive work by a ruthless Chelsea on the night.

Chelsea will face Bayern Munich on Tuesday, and the result and performance will be welcomed by Conte ahead of the match, however Wenger will have plenty to ponder as he now has to regroup and prepare his side for the Emirates Cup tournament next weekend.
