The Spaniard reflects in the post on the last-minute save that denied him a winner, as he also did when he spoke after the final whistle.
‘I tried my best and David De Gea saved very well with his foot,’ Mata said.
‘We had not only my chance but Eden [Hazard] and Oscar had chances and finally we have another chance, a replay at home.
‘We were playing in a stadium like Old Trafford, against Man United, and it could be a good result but the second half we had so many chances to score,’ he added. ‘De Gea was impressive, saving some of them, but we can be a little bit proud because in the first minutes they scored two goals and we had a very difficult game ahead.
‘But we tried until the end and we had our chances to get through and we have another game.
‘We are a strong team at Stamford Bridge with our supporters there and we will try to get through.’
