John Mikel Obi was the only Chelsea man to complete a full game in African World Cup qualifiers on Saturday, as the three Blues to feature suffered disappointment on home soil.

Mikel and Victor Moses both started for Nigeria, who needed an injury-time equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw against Kenya in Calabar, havin gtrailed to a first-half strike. The equaliser came from substitute Nnamdi Oduamadi, four minutes after Moses had been replaced. It leaves the Super Eagles with five points from their three qualifying games so far, and sit atop their group alongside Malawi.

Meanwhile Demba Ba was a starter for Senegal, who had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to Angola despite taking a lead into the break. The striker was substituted with 13 minutes to go. Senegal sit two points clear of Angola at the top of their group.
