David Luiz pinpointed Spiderman as his favourite superhero as he answered fans’ questions via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.

The Brazilian followed on from Demba Ba and former winger Pat Nevin in recent weeks, responding to queries sent in from around the world.

Among those questions were the poser from @GraceReilly_Blx, who wanted to know which superhero the defender would be. After much deliberation, weighing up the various extraordinary powers on offer, he decided: ‘If I have to choose one of the characters it will be Spiderman, helping the people.’

This idea of providing help was a running theme. He was also asked about whether he was aiding Oscar and Ramires as they learn English.

‘Every day they both try to learn. It’s difficult but I hope they can speak a lot more soon,’ he responded.

Most of that learning goes on at Cobham, with the players receiving individual tuition. David Luiz did similar, but explained that his typical days at the training ground are now full of: ‘Cold! Also there is hard work, and looking forward to the next game.’

This week that has meant preparing for Rubin Kazan on Thursday night. The team flies to Moscow on Wednesday morning, with @senoritagen, who is going to be at the game, wanting to know how the 25-year-old feels about the trip.

‘I hope the supporters can see us. It’s another good trip and I want to win,’ he said, adding in response to @JacobBeattie7’s question that he is always confident of achieving the best results possible.

Ambitions, goals and targets were also a common query. Asked by @amys268 for three things he’d like to achieve in the future, he explained: ‘I want to be a good person, a good player as much as I can, and to have a family also.’

There was also the question of how it feels to be told you are going to captain Brazil.

‘It was a magical day for me,’ he said. ‘I was so proud. Not many players have this opportunity. Thanks God.’

Finally, @LaurenChelseaFC asked how long it took to get the blue paint from our recent kit shoot, at which he is pictured above, out of his hair.

15 hours!’ he joked. ‘It was easy because the paint was okay. It was a fun day!’
