Patrick van Aanholt has been added to the Netherlands senior squad for the first time ahead of a friendly international against Colombia on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old left-back, who is spending a second season on-loan at Vitesse Arnhem having previously made eight Chelsea appearances, has been called up by Louis van Gaal following the withdrawal due to injury of two defenders, Bruno Martins Indi and Jetro Willems.
Patrick Bamford, who is in a rich vein of scoring form at MK Dons where he is on-loan until January, has been brought into the England Under-21 squad by Gareth Southgate. The 20-year-old as a replacement for West Brom’s Saido Berahino who is suspended for a European Championship qualifier against San Marino on Tuesday.
Bamford has played for England Under-18s and Under-19s and has 12 goals in 20 appearances for the League One side this season. He joined Chelsea in January 2012 and is yet to play for our first team.
