IMPORTANT UPDATED TRAVEL NEWS FOR SWANSEA AND LIVERPOOL HOME GAMES

Supporters attending Chelsea’s home matches against Swansea and Liverpool over the Christmas period are strongly advised to take notice of the following public transport information, which has been updated.

This information includes details of London Underground closure on the Wimbledon branch of District Line which runs through Fulham Broadway station, the closest to Stamford Bridge.

On Thursday 26 December, the day of the match against Swansea City, the District Line will be closed between South Kensington/Edgware Road to Wimbledon/Richmond/Ealing Broadway/Olympia from approximately 18:30 hours until the end of London Underground service on Monday 30 December.

Therefore this part of the line will be closed throughout Sunday 29 December, the day of the match against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

On Thursday 26 December, the last westbound and eastbound District Line trains from Fulham Broadway station will depart at 18:21 and 18:51 respectively. Fans are strongly advised to have embarked on their journey well before then. After this time, a rail replacement bus service will run between Earl’s Court and Wimbledon at frequent intervals.

During occasions where there is no train service at Fulham Broadway station, supporters are recommended to use the following alternatives:

 – Supporters wishing to travel to and from central London are advised to walk to and from South Kensington or Earl’s Court stations using the signed walking routes (see map below). Earl’s Court station is expected to be extremely busy post match and queues of up to 60 minutes are expected. Supporters are advised to walk to South Kensington to avoid these queues and will be able to use eastbound District line services in addition to Piccadilly or Circle lines.

– Supporters wishing to travel west of Earl’s Court are advised to walk to Hammersmith station using the signed walking route (see map below) to avoid post-match queuing at Earl’s Court station. Supporters can use the Piccadilly Line in addition to the Hammersmith and City Line.

– Supporters wishing to travel south (to connect to South West Train services) on 29 December are advised to use an enhanced post-match London Overground service at West Brompton station and connect to National Rail services at Clapham Junction station.

On Thursday 26 December, another section of the District Line will be closed from Earl’s Court to Richmond/Ealing Broadway/Edgware Road/Kensington (Olympia) during the day until approximately 18:30 hours.

The Piccadilly, Circle and Hammersmith & City Lines will operate a normal service during this time. After approximately 18:30 on 26 December, Piccadilly Line trains will also serve all District Line stations between Hammersmith and Acton Town and some trains will run to Ealing Broadway.

London Overground
All Overground lines (including the West London Line) will be closed on Thursday 26 December.

Southern Rail
There will be no service operating on the West London Line on Thursday 26 December.


Walking Routes
