THE SELECTOR: GARY CAHILL

Gary Cahill is the latest player to put six subjects into the categories first, last, best, worst, easiest and hardest…

BEST
Opponent.
Cristiano Ronaldo because he’s got everything; pace, strength, good in the air, great with both feet, full of tricks, there’s nothing he doesn’t have. For me, he’s the most dangerous player I’ve faced. I played against him earlier in my career, and then I played against him on our pre-season trip to the US and, if anything, he’s got even better. His record’s absolutely phenomenal and he’s playing on a different planet.

WORST
TV. I can’t stand watching cookery programmes on television. There seems to be so many of them around at the moment. Don’t get me wrong, I love my food, but I really don’t enjoy watching those shows.

FIRST
Holiday.
I remember the first holiday I went on with my mates. A load of us who went to school together all went to Ibiza, I was around 17 at the time and it was a bit wild but a lot of fun.

LAST
Music.
The last album I downloaded was Drake’s new one, it’s called Nothing Was the Same.

EASIEST

Game. The easiest game for me to remember is, of course, the Champions League final. An absolutely unbelievable night for me and everybody connected with the club.

HARDEST
Training.
The hardest training sessions are during pre-season, we have double sessions most days and there’s a lot of running involved, which I don’t really enjoy.
