Sam Hutchinson has today (Friday) joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan until 12 March.
The 24-year-old, who can play at right-back or in the centre of defence, spent the first half of the season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem in the Netherlands.
Hutchinson, a product of the Chelsea Academy, has made six first team appearances for the Blues, most recently on the final day of the 2011/12 season at home to Blackburn Rovers.
Last season he moved away from Stamford Bridge for the first time, joining Nottingham Forest on loan, where he made nine appearances.
That move came six months after Hutchinson resumed his playing career having recovered from a knee problem that had forced his retirement for a year and a half.
Sheffield Wednesday are currently 17th in the Championship under the guidance of manager Stuart Gray, who took charge at the end of January following the departure of Dave Jones.
