Chelsea’s January signing Kurt Zouma was the scorer of the winning goal as France Under-21s beat Belarus Under-21s on Tuesday evening.
The central defender, who remains on loan at his previous club St-Etienne until the end of the season, decided the game two minutes into stoppage time. It made it six wins out of six for France in their qualification group for the 2015 European Under-21 Championships finals. Nineteen-year-old Zouma was captain of the France side.
Elsewhere on Tuesday, Chelsea Academy player Isak Ssewankambo, who was a substitute during our recent UEFA Youth League win over AC Milan, played right-back in Sweden Under-19s’ match against Iceland. He was on losing side in the first of a double-header between the Nordic sides this week, losing the first game 3-0.
