Petr Cech trained with the squad at a sunny Cobham today but Eden Hazard wasn’t involved at the start of the final preparations for our Champions League semi-final first leg with Atletico Madrid.
The Blues trained this morning [Monday] at the club’s training ground, with the first 15 minutes of the session open to media. They will then fly to the Spanish capital this afternoon ahead of tomorrow evening’s game with the La Liga leaders.
Cech missed our 2-1 defeat to Sunderland on Saturday because of a minor illness, but our keeper trained as normal today under the guidance of goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon.
The Czech was joined by fellow stoppers Mark Schwarzer, Hilario and Mitchell Beeney. The quartet first went through fitness drills with the rest of the squad before separating as usual to work with Lollichon.
Hazard picked up a calf injury in our last European outing, the 2-0 win over PSG two weeks ago, and has not featured since.
Aside from the Belgian every first team squad member was present, including the suspended Branislav Ivanovic and the ineligible pair of Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah.
Mourinho and one of his players will address the media this evening in Madrid.
