Frank Lampard and Gary Cahill have been named in England’s World Cup squad.

Roy Hodgson named a 23-man squad, along with a standby list of seven players, earlier today at Wembley, with the Chelsea duo included.

Lampard will make his third appearance at a World Cup finals, having also been involved in 2010 and 2006. The midfielder has 103 caps for the Three Lions.

It will be Cahill’s first involvement at a major tournament and reward for an impressive season for the Blues.

The defender, who has 22 caps to his name, was set to be part of the England squad for the 2012 European Championships but missed out through injury.

The tournament, which takes place in Brazil, begins on Thursday 12 June.

England are in group D alongside Costa Rica Uruguay and Italy.
