?Chelsea are set to exact revenge on Manchester United over their £90m Romelu Lukaku swoop by securing the £40m signing of Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Blues fans had feared that United would once again usurp them in the transfer market as rumours circulated about the Red Devils poaching Bakayoko from under Chelsea’s noses at the last minute.
However, Bakayoko’s own brother Abdou seems to have all-but-confirmed his sibling’s Stamford Bridge move with an extremely obvious tease on his personal Snapchat account (via 101GreatGoals’ Twitter feed).
If that wasn’t enough to get the pulses racing, a more official claim from ?RMC Sport has also alleged that Bakayoko’s switch to the Premier League is a mere formality, with the transfer expected to finally go through on Friday with a five-year contract in the offing if he puts pen to paper.
The 22-year-old’s move to London had been on the cards for a number of weeks, but Chelsea fans had begun to grow restless over the length of time it was taking to finalise their club’s third signing of the summer.
Concerns grew over yet another transfer target being missed out on as media reports in the UK suggested that United were destined to scoop the centre midfielder up and cause outrage among the Chelsea faithful and manager Antonio Conte.

However, reports in Bakayoko’s homeland have stated that the France international is currently nursing a knee injury, and that his recovery from that knock is the major reason behind the hold up in his protracted move to the Premier League champions, although it is not expected to hamper any medical examination due to take place in the next 48 hours.
The ex-Rennes starlet is expected to be out of action for a couple of months, and won’t likely make his debut for Conte’s side until September at the earliest. Chelsea supporters won’t care one jot, though, if they manage to secure his signature ahead of United – especially considering Jose Mourinho’s team snatched Lukaku out of their hands at the death.
Bakayoko helped Monaco secure the Ligue 1 title last season, and has made 92 appearances during his three-year spell with the French heavyweights.
