Premier League Transfer Rumours: Klaassen, Mawson, Milinkovic-Savic, Traore and More

Where will Everton flop Davy Klaassen be playing his football in 2018/19? Will Alfie Mawson secure an exit from Swansea to return to the Premier League? What is the latest on English interest in Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic? And who has eyes for Adama Traore?

Here’s a look at a collection of the latest transfer rumours regarding Premier League clubs…

7. Watford Eye Mexican Free Agent

Sky Sports are reporting that Watford are the latest Premier League club to show interest in Mexico international Diego Reyes, who is currently a free agent after leaving Porto last month.

Newcastle and West Ham are among those alleged to have already made an offer for the 25-year-old centre-back, although it would seem that any Hornets interest for now is in its infancy.

As yet there is no offer from Vicarage Road but it remains a possibility.

6. Burnley ‘Locked in Talks’ With Swansea Over Mawson

Burnley and Swansea are said to be ‘locked in talks’ over a possible deal for centre-back Alfie Mawson, whose performances offered a rare shining light as the Swans were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season.

According to Wales Online, discussions with Burnley are continuing, with Swansea apparently keen to receive £20m for the 24-year-old defender.

Still recovering from knee surgery, Mawson is said to be keen to make an immediate return to the Premier League. West Ham are also credited with interest.

5. Reports Disagree Over Liverpool’s Vida Interest

Turkish outlet aSpor has claimed that Liverpool have agreed a two-year contract, plus an optional third year, with Croatian centre-back and World Cup finalist Domagoj Vida.

To complete the alleged deal, the Reds must meet Besiktas’ asking price of 143m Turkish Lira, the equivalent of around £22.6m.

However, a vastly more trustworthy report from the Liverpool Echo suggest that Vida will not join because Jurgen Klopp actually has no interest in signing him or any other centre-back this summer, despite ongoing concerns over Joel Matip’s fitness.

4. London Duo Face Competition for Lille Full-Back

A story from France Football has named London pair West Ham and Fulham among the list of suitors interested in Lille right-back Kevin Malcuit.

Fulham are said to be the more interested of the two, but an approach from either club hasn’t been ruled out before the fast approaching early transfer deadline.

They may have their work cut out, though, with Napoli and Inter also reportedly interested. La Liga side Celta Vigo are said to have made a loan enquiry.

3. Everton’s Klaassen Set to Join Werder Bremen

Everton flop Davy Klaassen is closing in on a move to Werder Bremen after being given permission to skip the Toffees’ friendly with Blackburn to hold talks with the Bundesliga club.

The Liverpool Echo reports that Bremen are readying a four-year offer for Klaassen, whose Everton career now looks set to end after just one season having failed to impress new boss Marco Silva so far this summer.

The proposed £12 deal, rising to a possible £13m, will see Everton lose around half the money they paid Ajax for the Dutchman 12 short months ago.

2. Wolves Trigger Release Clause for Ex-Barcelona Starlet

Former Barcelona speedster Adama Traore could soon be back in the Premier League if the latest gossip from The Sun is to be believed.

That is because Championship winners Wolves have apparently triggered an £18m release clause to take the 22-year-old Middlesbrough winger to Molineux. All the money will be paid in one go and Wolves are said to be ready to offer Traore the personal terms he wants.

And, as a possible indicator that there is genuine substance to this story, the Spaniard sat out Boro’s pre-season friendly against Rochdale earlier this week.

1. Chelsea Ready to Pounce for Lazio Midfielder SMS

Chelsea are the latest club being linked with a summer swoop for emerging Lazio superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to The Independent.

The 2016/17 Premier League champions are apparently ‘monitoring’ the 23-year-old and will step forward with a bid if any rivals clubs make a move. It is even claimed that Milinkovic-Savic would actually ‘favour a switch to Stamford Bridge’ at this stage.

It’s also worth noting that Chelsea look set to miss out on Monaco-bound Aleksandr Golovin.
