Dortmund Director Refuses to Rule Out Jadon Sancho Departure Amid Man Utd & Chelsea Interest

?Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has left the door open for Jadon Sancho to leave the club in the summer, having failed to definitively confirm he’ll remain beyond the current season.

It’s been another magical individual campaign for Sancho, with 24 goal contributions in just 18 Bundesliga outings this season as Dortmund sit just three points adrift of top spot in the league.

Sancho’s performances have also helped the club into the Champions League knockout stages, with interest in the forward off the back of such form staying constant through the January window. Long-term admirers ?Manchester United were joined by ?Chelsea in being linked with the 19-year-old attacker, but ?Dortmund were insistent on keeping hold of the teenager.

It’s taken less than a week for exit rumours to reemerge though, with Zorc revealing that he can’t fully confirm Sancho’s future at the club beyond the summer, although he did deny being contacted by any club for his services.

“The fact is no other club has contacted us so far about Jadon,” Zorc told German outlet Bild. “[I can’t] reliably answer today [if Sancho will stay at Dortmund beyond the summer]. What I can say for sure is that he feels very comfortable with us. Otherwise he could not produce such [high-level] performances week after week.”

Such immense form for Die Borussen has placed Sancho among the finest talents in world football. He has continued to improve since his joining the club, and is already within touching distance of surpassing his league figures from last season – this despite playing 16 matches less. With the European Championships coming up in the summer, his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad look assured.

“He is a phenomenon and is now producing top performances,” Zorc added. “And he rarely takes a break on the pitch, helping the team with their defensive work. He is hard-working and gets the greatest of respect from me.”
