Leicester City host Chelsea on Sunday afternoon for a place in the semi finals of the FA Cup.

The Foxes have yet to win a game since the Premier League resumed in June, but their record pre-break against big teams has left fans optimistic of success against the traditional elite in the cup.

Their opponents, however, have flown out of the blocks since English football returned, with two wins in as many games. An impressive victory at home to Manchester City on Thursday was the obvious highlight, but a sharp comeback against Aston Villa on the weekend showcased an impressive spine too.

Leicester have just the two long-term injuries, with right-back Ricardo Pereira (cruciate ligament) and Daniel Amartey (ankle) both sidelined for the foreseeable. Meanwhile, midfielder Dennis Praet has only just recovered from a calf problem and is a doubt to appear on Sunday.

The Blues have their own injury concerns ahead of their trip to the Midlands though. Centre-back Fikayo Tomori has been struggling with a muscular issue and will likely miss out, while Callum Hudson-Odoi is doubtful to play having missed the last two league games with an ankle knock.

Leicester: Schmeichel; Justin, Evans, Söyüncü, Chilwell; Ndidi; Pérez, Tielemans, Maddison, Barnes; Vardy.

Chelsea: Kepa; James, Christensen, Rüdiger, Azpilicueta; Kova?i?, Jorginho, Kanté; Pedro, Abraham, Pulisic.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have not won (did we mention?) since the Premier League restarted, with two draws from their two games. They’ll be expected to produce a much better performance than in their goalless draw with Brighton – with Kasper Schmeichel’s penalty save rescuing them from defeat in midweek.

As for Chelsea, they have been impressive with two straight wins after the three-month break. A huge 2-1 victory over Man City means that they come to the King Power with plenty of momentum and confidence to pick up another victory.

Here’s how both sides have fared in their last five encounters.

Leicester

Leicester 0-0 Brighton (23/6)
Watford 1-1 Leicester (20/6)
Leicester 4-0 Aston Villa (9/3)
Leicester 1-0 Birmingham City (4/3)
Norwich 1-0 Leicester (28/2)

Chelsea

Chelsea 2-1 Man City (25/6)
Aston Villa 1-2 Chelsea (21/6)
Chelsea 4-0 Everton (8/3)
Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool (3/3)
Bournemouth 2-2 Chelsea (29/2)

Looking back on this season’s games, it’s hard not to expect a close game – with a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge followed up with a 2-2 thriller at the King Power in February.

However, two teams could not have restarted their seasons more differently. The hosts have stumbled out of the gate, while Frank Lampard’s side have looked re-energised and intent on finishing the campaign strongly.

Provided they put in a similar type of display to Thursday, Chelsea should have the slight edge in this tie.

Prediction: Leicester City 1-2 Chelsea
