Gallagher signs new deal and completes Premier League loan

The five-year deal commits Gallagher to his boyhood club until at least 2025 and follows a positive first season in senior football in the Championship.

His latest switch to the Hawthorns is the first loan to a top-flight club for the 21-year-old, who earned plenty of praise for his performances in English football’s second tier last term, where he spent the first half of the campaign at Charlton Athletic before switching to Swansea City.

The Epsom-born midfielder is one of the many who have progressed through our Academy from the very earliest age groups on to senior football. At Charlton he played in all but one of their league games in the first half of 2019/20 and scored six goals, but with the south London side struggling, he switched to South Wales, helping Swansea qualify for the Championship play-offs where they lost out to Brentford over two legs. Gallagher played 21 times for the Swans.
