Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has shown that class most certainly is permanent, as he scores a sublime free-kick while training Rochdale AFC’s youth team.

The former Birmingham City manager has been filmed teaching the League One side’s youngsters how to take a solid free-kick, and he didn’t disappoint.

Zola teaches the lads his technique, planting his left foot just behind the ball before taking three steps back.

He continues to give the lads instructions as he runs up to the ball, hitting it sweetly with the inside of his foot to curl it into the top corner, leaving the keeper with no chance.

The little forward was known for his incredible dribbling ability and set-play talent during his time in both Serie A and the Premier League.

He graced both divisions with wonderful skill that set him apart from all but a few opponents he faced, famously turning Jamie Carragher inside out at Stamford Bridge.

His ability to put the ball wherever he wanted with his wand of a right-foot is still apparent, as his training ground free-kick here shows similarities with his wonderful strike for the Blues against Blackburn at Ewood Park.

The wonderful free-kick has even had Chelsea fans jokingly calling for the little Italian to come out of retirement to help the Blues retain their Premier League title next season.
